1. massacre- the killing of many people
2. correspondence- written communication
3. quarter- to provide food and shelter for someone
4. delegate- someone chosen to speak and act for others
5. Patriot- a soldier fighting against the British and for the rights of the colonists
6. militia- a group of ordinary people that are trained for battle
7. minutemen- specially trained soldiers that are ready for battle in a minute's notice
