Parents/Guardians,
I am planning on doing a salt dough map activity with the students on Friday, September 13th. This is a fun activity that will reinforce what we have been talking about with Utah Geography and the different features of Utah. In order to do this activity however, a few supplies are needed for each child to complete their map. The following is a list of items we will need. If you are willing to donate any of these, I would really appreciate it. You can send them with your child to school any time this week or on Friday.
1. Toothpicks
2. 12” by 9” cutouts of cardboard
3. Salt Dough (recipe below) *
*If you would like to make the salt dough, please let me know as soon as possible, so I know how much more I need to bring for everyone else. Each recipe makes enough dough for two students. It should not be sent to school until the day of the activity.
Thank you for your support in this matter. Let me know if you have any questions!
Sincerely,
Miss Lloyd

Salt Dough Recipe:
1 cup of salt
2 cups of all-purpose flour
½-1 cup of cold water
In a large bowl, mix salt and flour ingredients together with a spoon. Gradually add ½ cup water and continue to mix. Keep adding water until desired consistency (Not too runny. If it is sticking to your hand, it is too runny!). Once you can roll it into a ball, knead it on the table for a few minutes. You may need to add another drop or two of water. Put into a Ziploc bag to send to school in.
