County Reports

Each student is doing a written and oral presentation on a county of Utah. The written portion will be done in class. The oral portion will be prepared at home. Here is the information on the portion that should be done at home:


County Report Presentation
Due June 17, 18, 19, or 20
(Students will sign up for one of the days.)

Create a “float” out of a shoebox that shows what you have learned about your assigned county. Present the float to the class by showing your creation and talking about what you learned. Convince us that your county is worth visiting!

Float Checklist:
_____County Name- 10 pts.
_____ Outside of box covered and decorated neatly to reflect something important about the county- 20 pts.

Example: A Salt Lake County float could be decorated like a capitol building because Salt Lake City, the state capitol of Utah, is located in the county.

_____ Each side of the box should have information/pictures on it that would be interesting and important to the class to learn about that county- 20 pts.

Presentation Checklist:
_____ Talk loudly and clearly- 10 pts.
_____ Explanation of all sides of float- 20 pts.
_____ No more than 5 minutes long- 10 pts.
_____ Convince us that we should visit your county-10 pts.

Total = _________/ 100 pts.
