Each year, I like to have my class choose, plan, and carry out a service project of their choice. This year we have chosen to donate toys to Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake. There are many children at the hospital that stay for long periods of time, so the hospital is in need of toys to help make the stay more enjoyable for the children. Our class will be collecting toys until January 22, 2010 and then donating them to the hospital at that time. The following is a list of items to consider:
Top Items Needed
Play Doh (Play Doh brand only, please.)
Match Box or Hot Wheels cars
Fuzzy Posters (with or without markers)
Star Stackers (infant toy)
Lego, Transformers, Bionicle sets and action figures (Batman, Star Wars, Spiderman)
Rattles (washable, no cloth)
Bubbles
Baby Links (for infants) attach to swings and strollers
Personal CD Players
Boom boxes
There is a more complete list at this site. Please send the items you wish to donate with someone in Miss Lloyd's class or drop them in the boxes by the front office at Welby Elementary. We appreciate anything you can donate, but please make sure the items are new or gently used.
We would like to donate as much as we can, so please try to spread the word to anyone you think might be interested in this cause. Thank you!
